Accessibility Statement

This statement applies specifically to the LEGO Insiders App, which is created and managed by the LEGO Group. It focuses only on the accessibility approach and current condition of this application and does not extend to other digital services, websites, or platforms operated by the organization. Each digital product is evaluated individually to ensure clear understanding of its scope and responsibilities.

The LEGO Group is committed to making its digital experiences usable and enjoyable for as many people as possible. This includes individuals who rely on assistive technologies or alternative ways of interacting with digital content. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time achievement, with continuous attention given to inclusivity, usability, and respect for different user needs. The aim is to provide an app experience that feels intuitive, accessible, and welcoming to all.

To support this goal, efforts are made to align the application with recognized accessibility standards and legal frameworks. These include the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA and the requirements outlined in EN 301 549 under the European Accessibility Act. By following these standards, the app is designed to support features such as screen readers, adjustable text sizes, and alternative navigation methods. Improvements are made regularly as both technology and user expectations evolve.

Currently, the LEGO Insiders App is considered partially compliant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Many accessibility features are in place, allowing a wide range of users to interact with the app successfully. However, certain areas still require further refinement, and these are actively being addressed as part of ongoing updates.

Some known limitations have been identified through testing. For instance, when text size is increased significantly, certain interface elements may not adjust as smoothly as expected. Although this does not prevent users from completing essential tasks like creating accounts, browsing content, or making purchases, it can impact overall readability and comfort. Enhancing responsiveness at larger text sizes remains a priority.

Another area for improvement involves how screen readers interpret product images on detailed pages. In some cases, images may not be properly described, which can limit access to important information for users who depend on audio feedback. Work is underway to improve image descriptions and navigation behavior. There are also instances where form elements, such as checkboxes, may not consistently communicate their selected or unselected state through screen readers, which can create confusion. Addressing these issues is part of ongoing development efforts.

In addition to required accessibility features, there is recognition of the value of optional visual settings. For example, a Dark Mode feature is being considered for future updates to support users who prefer lower brightness or improved contrast in different environments.

Progress toward improved accessibility is supported through regular evaluations, testing with assistive technologies, and the integration of inclusive design practices. Teams involved in design and development receive guidance and training to ensure accessibility remains a priority. Identified issues are incorporated into development plans and addressed through updates over time. Through these continuous efforts, the accessibility of the LEGO Insiders App continues to improve, reinforcing a commitment to creating inclusive digital experiences for all users.
